Open your mind and your senses to the treasures of Italy. If you have ever wanted to experience the arts and culture of Italy firsthand, this is the place to do it. Courses are held in the Arts and Crafts Campus of Il Borgo at convenient hours. Seven courses are offered every week, if requested,and you may preselect those you wish to attend (our suggestion is to register to a maximum of two courses per participant in order to enjoy all of our full program stay).

Each class has no more than 4/8 participants in order to encourage your participation and provide opportunities to personally interact with the instructor or lecturer. Faculty comes from the Tuscan community and is well versed in the region's traditions.

The Curriculum

Ceramic Paintings Taught by a local ceramics artist, this class guides you through the process of preparing terracotta plates and objects for painting. A ceramic oven fires your designs, ideal mementoes to display at home. You may select between two courses : the basic one of two days (two hours per day) and the intensive one of four days (two hours per day).


Chianti Wine Lessons The wines of Chianti : under expert guidance, taste and learn about one of the most famous Italian wine regions! One day two hours course.

Conversational Italian The most requested course together with the Tuscan Cooking one!
Open your mind and ears to the melodic sounds of the Italian language, discuss current Tuscan topics and learn new words and phrases in this class. Four day course, two hours per day.

Photography and the Tuscan Panorama Capture the changing beauty of the Tuscan landscape. The instructor is a well-knowen local professional photographer (photographer for National Geagrafics), shares camera techniques and inspires participants to enhance their creativity. Two day course, two hours per day.

Tuscan Art and History Covering the art, culture and history of Tuscany, these lectures give participants unique insights into the region. Two day course, two hours per day.

Tuscan Four Season Cooking Buon Appetito!
Delicious Tuscan cuisine is seasonal and based on locally available products. Attendees learn to prepare two specialities during this course and, at the end, they will feast on what they have cooked. Three day course, two hours per day.


Tuscan Tradition of Watercolours Equipped with an easel, drawing paper, watercolours and brushes, you will depict Tuscan vistas with guidance from a well-known local artist. You may select between two courses : the basic course of two days (two hours per day) and the intensive one (four day course, two hours per day).

The fee is per course, and includes class materials.
Preregistration is required 30 days prior arrival.

Should scheduling changes occur, participants will be notified on arrival.
